WHY WE LOVE IT

Not every timepiece from the world’s greatest watchmaker fits neatly into the mold of an overarching theme or collection.

While we love a simple Calatrava, a sporty Aquanaut, or a complicated perpetual calendar as much as the next guy, the oddball, more overlooked and usually limited-production, shaped watches made by the maison in second half of the 20th century are often some of the most innovative and charming in the brand’s oeuvre.

Take this Goldolo for example. Dating to circa the early 1970s, this Reference 3528/3 features a solid 18k white gold construction, with a tonneau case and matching woven integrated bracelet, a signed crown, an absolutely stunning sunburst blue champagne dial with white printed indices and a matching 'pencil' handset, and Patek's Calibre 175 manual-winding movement within.

Fantastic.

There’s nothing wrong with a classic Calatrava if what you’re after is a handsome, reliable dress watch. But for those in search of something a bit…more, this piece is the one to own.

The case and bracelet are in fantastic condition overall showing light signs of wear from age and use. Sunburst blue dial with printed white indices is in outstanding condition, with no visible wear and matching 'pencil' handset. Signed crown.
