WHY WE LOVE IT
The Rolex Submariner is a classic, and there’s good reason why almost every collector winds up with a vintage Rolex sports model in their stash - these are timeless, tough, do-anything, go-anywhere tool watches.
Rolex has been producing Submariners uninterrupted since the watch was introduced in 1953, and while those first Big Crown subs are truly incredible pieces, most of us will have to wait for our lottery numbers to hit to get one of those strapped to our wrist.
This particular example dates to circa 1971 and features the 39mm Oyster case with 'holey-lugs' that we all love, a matte black Tritium dial with a matching handset, a domed acrylic crystal, a bidirectional rotating dive timing bezel showing a light charcoal fade, and a folded-link Jubilee bracelet with a signed blade clasp.
The Reference 5513 is arguably the cleanest variant of the Submariner line - a true icon of icons, and no collection should be without one!
This one is no exception.
