Why We Love It
Patek Philippe is one of the few brands that knows how to execute simple perfection.
Over the years, their dress -line Calatrava has evolved, but its basic characteristics remain unmistakable and iconic. It's rich history provides both the vintage and contemporary enthusiast with a variety of choices in metals, sizes, and tiny details to obsess over.
This particular example, a Reference 7134G-001 is finished in a 34mm 18k white gold case, which houses Patek's manual-winding calibre 215 manual winding dual timezone movement with a sunburst brown dial with applied Arabic numerals, luminous white gold leaf hands, and a subsidiary seconds register. The case contains two additional pushers at the 8:00 and 10:00 positions, which allow the wearer to select a second time zone indicated in the 12:00 subsidiary register. Originally marketed for ladies, this particular model is fitted with a factory diamond bezel, but with its 34mm size and color palette is truly gender neutral.
This lovely watch is in outstanding condition throughout and is accompanied by its original 18k white gold pin buckle, and a Patek Philippe signed brown leather alligator trap.
This watch has it all - pedigree, refinement, function, and an understated appeal.
Simply lovely!
The Patek Philippe Story
Patek Philippe.
Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe is one of the oldest watch manufacturers in the world with an uninterrupted watchmaking history. Few luxury brands in the world carry the gravitas of their name, and for good reason. The firm's commitment to excellence in horological manufacture is unflinching, and their track record of innovation in design without peer. They continue to lead the industry, and even their fiercest competitors have nothing but the utmost respect for the company.
Owning a Patek Philippe is for many the ultimate goal of timepiece collecting, and for a certain type, the only timepieces they collect. Whichever way you look at it, there is no questioning the elegance of design, superlative manufacture of their cases and movements, or the sheer elegance and emotion that comes from owning one.
Of course for a brand that is steeped in heritage, we are told ‘You never actually own a Patek Philippe…”
Well, you know the rest.
