WHY WE LOVE IT

Yeah, OK, its a quartz watch. Something that is not often seen around these parts.

But every once in awhile, we'll make an exception for something exceptionally cool - and a Oysterquartz Datejust with an integrated bracelet certainly checks the box for exceptionally cool!

Featuring a 70s-styled case with integrated bracelet, the Oysterquartz is a strange leftover from the crisis era, in which even the mighty Rolex experimented with the new quartz technology that was pummeling the mechanical watch industry.

But instead of going downmarket, Rolex utilized the sporty Genta-inspired design language of the era and introduced an entirely new case style in which to introduce their new tech - a design choice that was loved by some, hated by others, and is without question a quirky choice for a Rolex branded wristwatch.

This particular example, a Reference 17000 dates to circa 1990 and features an excellent glossy white Tritium dial with applied white gold Roman indices, a matching handset, a magnified sapphire crystal, and the excellent integrated Oysterquartz flat-link bracelet with a signed blade clasp. Furthermore, this piece remains in very good untouched condition and retains its factory caseback sticker.

Like their more classically-styled siblings, these timepieces are incredibly versatile for everyday use, and can easily be dressed-up for formal occasions or dressed-down and worn as a sporty everyday companion.

After-all, this is still a Datejust!

OVERALL CONDITION

The case is in excellent condition overall showing normal signs of wear consistent with age and use. Gloss black Tritium dial with applied indices is in fantastic condition showing light even patination to luminous elements with matching handset. Signed crown.
